"Free Design is a four-member brothers and sisters unit from New York that was active from the late 60s to the early 70s. Chris, who played an important role in arranging and composing, played a central role in many of the albums that placed emphasis on the enrichment of chorus work. However, the most attractive feature of the album is the excellent sound quality. With the cooperation of Enoch Wright, the head of the Project 3 label to which the band belonged, the band used a magnetically coated software on a wide 35mm film for the master, resulting in recordings with sound quality that was unthinkable at the time. Free Design is often called soft rock, but the sound is overwhelmingly clearer than other similar works from this era. That's why it may even be suitable for today's dance floors in the club era.

Heaven Earth, released in 1969, is the third album recorded with New York jazz musicians as backing. Not only is the overall finish somewhat mature, but the cover selection is also unique, with songs such as Gershein's "Summertime" and Tim Hardin's "If I Were a Carpenter." Still, I was surprised to find a song that was called "the hit song of 2002." It would have been a great foresight to have predicted that their music would be re-evaluated in the Far East in 2002, about 30 years later. '

In Gershwin's classic track ⑦, virtuoso musicians such as Richard Davis, Bill LaVogna, and Marvin Stamm play with incandescence. Their own composition ⑪ is of fantastic beauty. Peter, Paul and Mary's classic track ⑨ is also outstanding. The CD includes six additional tracks by Tony Moutora, the guitarist who joined them on chorus, on 1969's Warm, Wild and Wonderful. ”

“Chris Dedrick, the leader of The Free Design, passed away on August 6 last year after a long battle with cancer. Since the 1970s, he has been based in Toronto, Canada, and has been active mainly as a film music composer. -Omitted- “Heaven Earth” (1969) features a lineup of groovy or jazzy ‘sunshine pop’. For example, Chris’s “Now Is the Time” is a dizzying up-tempo number with funky brass and Chuck Rainey’s bass. On the other hand, Elvis Presley’s hit “Memories” is a ballad that allows you to enjoy the complex ensemble of chorus and brass. This CD includes six additional tracks from Tony Mottola's 'Warm, Wild & Wonderful' (1968), on which Free Design participated under the name of Groovies. It's a guitar instrumental with Free Design providing the chorus. '
